My family eat a variation of this most mornings. Estimate the amount of oats you'll need and cover with water.
Soak overnight and serve with fresh fruit, nuts, raisins, cacao nibs or whatever you have in your cupboard.
Add these to the oats when you soak them to make breakfast more fun.
Chopped dates, cinamon and saffron.
Roast a banana, whizz it up with almond milk.
Mixed berries and Chia seeds.
I like my oats slightly fermented but my wife does not. To ferment simply combine oats and water and leave covered for one extra night before adding the other ingredients. They should turn pleasingly sour which I love.
