Cleavers are otherwise known as sticky willy and spring is the perfect time to make use of their abundance. Cleavers are thought to aid the body's immune function and are surprisingly delicious.
After washing the cleavers boil for around 10 minutes. Don't throw the water away as it can either serve as a beneficial tea or as the basis for vegetable stock. Cool the Cleavers in cold water, drain then combine with the remaing ingredients and blend.
If picked in early spring you can just whizz up the whole plant, even though it may look stringy it will be fine. To be more Cheffy, pick of the leaves and discard the stalks.
